Breathing concerns

Hand holds inhaler to treat asthma.

When it comes to breathing, any issue can feel alarming.

We support people as they manage breathing concerns from asthma to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) — a term that covers a group of diseases that cause airflow blockage and breathing-related problems, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

How we can help

Working collaboratively with your family doctor, members of our Health Team can help you manage a variety of breathing concerns.

Health Management Nurse  – helps you learn to manage your chronic (long-term) breathing concerns through lifestyle changes — like nutrition and physical activity — and supports you in making these changes.

Clinical Pharmacist – helps you manage medications for conditions such as asthma, heart failure and COPD. They can help you understand both your prescriptions and natural medications or supplements, as well as suggest medications and over the counter products, information and resources to help you quit smoking or vaping.
