High blood pressure

High blood pressure — also known as hypertension — is a sign your heart is having to pump harder, with less efficiency, than normal to get blood through your vessels.

Gone untreated, it increases the risks of stroke or heart attack, as well as other major health problems.

Lifestyle changes, along with medication in some cases, can help treat — or prevent — high blood pressure from becoming a health risk.
