Grief can often feel overwhelming and can have a huge impact on your mental health, so it’s important to learn how to navigate the process in a healthy way.

To help, Calgary Foothills PCN is now offering the Alberta Journeying Through Grief workshop, which addresses all types of grief from loss of a loved one to the different forms of grief brought on by the pandemic such as mourning a former way of life, loss of a job or losses due to health conditions.

“The Journeying Through Grief Workshop group is really timely for our community right now,” says Breanna Gardener, PCN Community Social Worker and workshop facilitator.

“This is a time where so many of us are just surviving and may not have the tools to feel our feelings and help prioritize our healing. I hope that this can be one piece of the puzzle in helping participants move forward.”

Each week, attendees of the two-hour sessions will be provided information and discussion on:

  • Understanding grief
  • Self-expression
  • Active healing

All PCN virtual workshops give participants the opportunity to benefit from group learning and ask questions during the interactive sessions.

You can register for the virtual workshops online or by calling the program coordinator at 1-855-79-CFPCN (23726) or 587-774-9736.

If you are in the midst of a crisis, struggling with severe depression or anxiety or having suicidal thoughts, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER. Call the Distress Centre’s 24-hour helpline at 403-266-4357 or 211.
